MLM sales strategies have changed over time. Strategies that were very popular and that were successfully utilized in former times do not   work for the masses at present. In this article we will explore some of those methods of old and distinguish them with what actually works in todays market.

 

MLM Sales Technique of Yesterday

 

In former times, the key strategies used by mlm sales marketers were:

 

 Warm Market Prospecting. – This included trying to encourage your acquaintances, family and other close contacts to join you in your mlm business. Numerous people have built vast downlines by implementing and traing  this method. The drawback however is that In most cases your friends and family are not good business contacts and will typically do nothing after they sign up. When they fail and lose their investment they will blame the one who signed them up…”YOU” In reality many close relationships are damaged over this approach.

 

Cold Market Prospecting: This involves procuring and calling opportunity seeker leads, slurking in Malls and bookstores and presenting your opportunity to  any person who comes in close proximity to you (3foot rule) , going through the phonebook and randomly calling people about your business or service. The drawbacks of these techniques are considerable rejection. Yu can be succcessful here if you have thick skin but the majority of people can not take the amount of rejection that is recieved by this method of prospecting.

 

 

While some do succeed using the aforementioned methods the overall success rate is a dismal 3%-5%.

 

A Better Way of Doing Things.

 

The MLM Sales technique that I am about to share has helped top 1-3% earners in many mlm companies to totally dominate in the business.

 

Online Attraction marketing Revealed

 

At present the networkers that are achieving the most success are using online attraction marketing methods. . These marketers posture themselves in a way that is almost magnetic to their prospects and have their prospects chasing and hunting them down instead of the other way around. They enroll the prevalent medium around (The Internet) to promote themselves and provide solutions to troubles that their prospective clients may be having. By leading with value first and not throwing up on their prospect about their business, they are seen as a trusted coach and mentor. When the time is right and they recommend their business the prospects are happy to follow their suggestion.  This Technique has allowed a few savvy marketers to build enormouse businesses at a time when 97% of other reps were failing.

A key component of a successful attraction marketing system is having several Automated MLM Sales funnels. These funnels comprise of the following

The first product that you can market in your MLM is your actual company product. 80% or more of the Network Marketing population prance around talking about how ‘AMAZING’ their new magic lotion can be – if you’ll just try it. Let’s get one thing straight here – I like magic lotion more than most guys out there. ‘Magic lotion’ could be replaced with your vitamins, travel products, or whatever else you’re trying to promote – the concept remains the same.

The unfortunate thing about focusing your Network Marketing Sales on your company product is that you probably aren’t having much success doing it. I know, there was that one guy who your friend Bill knew who knew a gal named Susan who had an uncle who got rich wearing a shirt that said ‘I swam naked in algae’ – but is it working for you?

The second way of making MLM Sales is promoting your opportunity as the vehicle to riches. ‘Sell the Dream’ as they say in Amway. The hardest thing to do in the whole world (although it does work, for that one guy we both heard about once) is to gather your friends into your home, pull out a white board, and convince them all they’re going to get rich by joining you in your business.

However, if I’m honest – it was the most grueling thing I ever accomplished.

I had to give up church, friends, social gatherings, movie nights, you name it – all for the sake of ‘the dream’… I couldn’t even go on dates.

(I guess I never did much of that…)

Yeah, I made a lot of money doing it – so what? I could make a lot of money working all day and night as a MD, too – and you know what? I would rather be poor and spend my nights with my wife.

So if you take away the products, and you take away the opportunity – what is there left to sell?

So you’ve joined a MLM company, attended a corporate convention, hassled your relatives and attacked a few random strangers – all to no avail. So what’s the secret? How is it that another one armed one legged man crossed the stage at your company convention – yet you’re still living life broke? Haven’t you drank the cool-aid? How come the gurus haven’t solved all of your problems?

There are three different products you can focus on selling in your business. (I know, I know, you have ‘50 products’ or whatever – just hear me out).

The first product that you can market in your MLM is your actual company product. Most Network Marketers do nothing in their business but promote their new ‘MAGIC LOTION’ to everyone they meet. Now I don’t want you to misunderstand – I like magic lotion as much as the next guy. The term ‘magic lotion’ could be replaced with vitamins, pre-paid legal, travel, personal development, or whatever else you’re selling.

The bad part about running all over the universe promoting your product wherever you can is that you’re probably not making very much money doing it, are you? Now I know that you met a lady named Kathy who know a distributor named Frank and Frank had a niece who got rich wearing a button that said ‘lose weight now, ask me how’ – but has it produced success for you?

‘Selling’ your opportunity is the second method of marketing your MLM business. As the famous Bill Britt says in Amway ’sell the dream’. The most difficult thing I’ve ever done to make money was when I called everyone I knew, and invited them to my house to ’show them the plan’ when I first got started in Network Marketing.

It would be easier to send a manned mission to Mars… (Kidding) – I’m being serious here. And I’m not saying this as someone who has never been successful doing this, either – I built an organization of more than 1000 people part time doing nothing but home meetings. You know what though? Every night, every week, and every month of a previously enjoyed life was replaced with endless meetings, 3 way calls, and hotel briefings. I didn’t even go on any dates during this time.
